Pre-Swing Preparation For The Perfect Golf Swing

To get the perfect golf swing, you need adequate pre-swing preparation.

Mastering the fundamentals of golf swing begins with pre-swing preparation, which includes proper setup, mental preparation for the game, proper posture and correct body alignment.

One of the most important factors in mastering golf swing techniques is proper balance throughout the swing. Good balance is a result of observation to the following:

1. correct position of the hands on the club

2. correct contact between the face of the club and the golf ball

3. correct body posture

4. correct body alignment to the target

Proper body posture not only affects your turning motion but also maintains body balance throughout the swing. In addition, it results in correct ball contact, thus leading to consistency in golf swings, which is critical to golfing success.

Do the following to obtain proper body posture in your golf swing:

1. Tilt your spine slightly forward from your hips. Stand tall to align your spine with your head.

2. Flex your legs slightly, but keep them locked. Distribute your body weight evenly on the balls of your feet, both the target and trail side. Keep your legs shoulder-length apart. To maintain balance, line up your underarms with the insides of your feet.

3. Hang your arms loosely from your shoulders. Keep your arms one-hand width away from your body.

4. Keep your chin up and away from your body during your golf swing.

To execute the perfect golf swing, it is also important to have correct body alignment to the target. To achieve this, do the following:

1. Identify the target line - the imaginary line between the golf ball and the distant target.

2. Stand behind your golf ball and identify a spot on the ground, no more than 10 feet from the golf ball.

3. Position your clubface to make the leading edge of the club perpendicular to the target line.

4. Position your body in a position parallel to the imaginary target line.
